You havent met my bull mastiff!! She jumped out at 50km/h when she saw another dog and wanted to say hi. You could literally see the whites of her eyes in the rear view when she realised her legs couldnt go that fast!! :) Couple of barrel rolls and she was away.

I decided to tie her in after that and she managed to slide across the tub and over the side whilst i was going around an off camber round-a-bout. It left her running on her back legs next to my zook cos her collar was tied to the rear seat mounts and the chain was just long enough for her to look around the b pillar. I was only doing about 15-20km/h

You're right though, most dogs wouldnt jump or slip out like mine :) Lucky she's bullet proof.

Good job anyways. If I could be arsed and we had the weather to cruise top down a lot, I'd have a go at building a cage...... especially now I got a ridgeback x rotty too.

10/10 it's a great idea & a nice job!

Now for another horror story....

A few years ago my brother's kelpie Tex was tied on the back of a flat bed truck driven by my dad doing 90-100kph when it decided he wanted to get off... on the open road!

Tex jumped off the right hand side breaking his collar & was barrel rolling down the road, then was hit by a truck coming the other way, luckily he went between the wheels instead of under!!!!

The dog is still alive today, a little worse for wear. not really sure how he survived or how much more he's got left in him, he had a massive amount of broken bones including 2 legs, hip & internal injury's. He still has pins & screws in his hip!

The mad little bugger has gone on to spread his wild oats & has fathered quite a few pups, the strange thing is Tex a well trained dog that would do some amazing things...

If he couldn't see, he'd climb anything for a better view, work benches, stairs/ladders/44 gallon drums! my brother would take him out drilling & quite often Tex would jump/climb onto the roof of the truck to suss out what was going on in the distance instead of running off & getting into shit, hell you could be in a paddock & scratch a line in the dirt with your boot 2m long & tell him not to cross it & in his eye's that line in the dirt went from horizon to horizon & he'd stay on his side WTF??

PLEASE SECURE YOUR DOGS PROPERLY!!!

ay dawsey, looks pretty effective, might be good to secure your cartons of beer from the locals aswell, ... but i reckon if you added some barwork you could make it in to a roofrack so you could throw some stuff on top aswell, like a swag ? :D

my dog ended up with hypoxic brain damage from not enough oxygen when he tried to jump over the side of the ute while he was tied in, ended up hanging by his collar coz his feet couldn't touch the ground. you can't really tell that much tho, hes a cocker spaniel and they're stupid anyway

I ran out of the seafood shop towards this sickly howling noise. Dog was hanging by choker chain, just as i grabed him he shat all over me. Was like 5pm on friday night with a heap of on lookers.
