What model did you buy? Pcut 630.. Had one a couple of years ago and they work brilliantly for the price. Bought another because I sold the first one thinking I would not need it anymore after I finished my Hillman Hustler resto. Now I just have one for fun. |

Probably could ...I need to get my head around the software first. Maybe down the track a bit. Straight text is no problem but designs etc ...Im still learn'in..... plus got to be careful not to infringe copyrights etc (Mate got done for 2 grand by GMH for making a sticker that had the HSV logo) Anyway i'm just chuffed I finally got something out the front of the machine and onto a window Hehehehe |

Bazooka - get adobe illustrator and start learning mate... dont bother with the shit programs that come with the cutter for creating the artwork... once you've made what you want in illy, save as a compatible EPS file and load into the cutter program. Youll get a heap more flexibility and creativity this way. I used to do a LOT of vinyl cutting, including on the videoflex stock which is heat-pressed onto t-shirts... i managed to cut some designs so intricate that the guys who sold us the machine said would be impossible once i learnt a few tricks to make the weeding process easier. |

This doesnt always work, depending on what cutting program you use. About 10 years ago I used to cut vinyl stickers as part of my job. At the time, Dr Sticker It(i think it was called that) was the only program I could get. Importing files was possible, but man it was shit. Would cut one small section, then suck the vinyl through, cut another small section at other end, did it randomly. |

Yea Illi is on the 'To Get' list. It came with Artcut 2009 which is OK for basic lettering(and is up there with WinPCsign or whatever that POS is called) but I prefer SignBlazer elements. Bit of fluffing around with nodes and its done. Still getting my head around all the different file types and other stuff. Thanks for the tip tho. It keeps the old gray matter working !!! |

Bought it off a bloke in Perth. It was advertised in the quokka online and bargained him down. Ended up getting it and shipped to Carnarvon for the price he was asking just for the cutter. Good deal I thought and buckets load cheaper than ebay. |
