So i'm by far definitely the novice at welding etc, I cranked the old Ozito gasless mig budget to get me out of the shit for a few years, but had borrowed my mates gas mig to try and get some stuff done on my project. In the end, I made a purchase of a Uni-Mig Viper 182amp invertor MIG/MMA last week cause he's making the move across country.
I've only learnt from the 5 mins over a beer with a mate last year, but i'm slowly picking up on how to set my amps/wire speed and burnback. This is 2nd weld with this new machine after I fiddled with some knobs and stuff. I am enjoying the learning aspect, as my job ( chippy for a commercial/civil company) means having arc/mig is helpful on projects to replace columns, beams, braces and put plates on things instead of having to call someone else in from another site. We have plenty of small invertor caddies we use, so I head to the workshop every now and then to get some small practice in on the ARC.
And this is giving my old CIG Transarc that I'm pretty sure Noah used on part of the Arc a go, I've only used an Arc a few times to stuff around. Just a practice piece.
And a fabbed clutch bracket I made at the start of the year for my baleno conversion.
Pete.
