My old tube doors were donated to Crazy Craig so we made some more for mine. The old ones had a sliding bolt action to lock them. We made these a little different using the standard Sierra windscreen clamp down latches. The latches are up and out of the way so not much chance of ripping them off.

32mm tube. Tags welded on with holes in them to hold the rivets in the mirror stainless sheet.

The standard Sierra windscreen latch. The screw that holds the B pillar in goes through one of the holes and we just chucked a tec screw in the other hole, but basicly sits on that little flat plate for the B pillar.

Also have the peice of right angle as a door stop that screws the existing door latch holes.

It uses the standard Sierra door hinges and holes.

now we have matching doors, isn't that sweet

gunna beat up these ones :)

I can put a nutsert in where you have the TEK screw if you ever want to get fancy

it's a tech screw royce, coz it's about as tech as we're gonna get :lol:

nutserts sounds fancy.

The latch is incredibly easy to operate aswell, you just use your inside arms to reach across and do it up or undo it. And once closed it holds it very firm. Not sure how it'll go if it cops a bit hit, it might go out of line, but ya get that i suppose.

aaron has the same but on the outside, its a bit twisted up from use so gets a bit stuck now, no doubt he will come up with some air operated thing soon enough :)

yeah i remember him having the latches on the outside, but i thought they'd be too exposed and get wiped out.

looks really good steve. My mates planning to make some tube doors for his zook soon. But I think he will probably run the stock latch...

So is it ready to run/finished? whats the next event on the agenda?

I doubt it, they hold the windscreen down pretty hard.

How many metres tube would you need for each door would you guess?

guessing... 2 1/2 metres? I'm at work, car is at home.

you'd have to measure what you need for your design.
