X2.

And what are you bolting it to? Are you planning on drilling through the chassis? Hope not :?

Fatzook, how would you attach it to the chassis if you didn't drill through it???
The aftermarket ones I have been looking at for ideas all seem to bolt to the chassis.

Post subject:  Re: slider design

they usually have a U clamp type set up to go around the chassis.

Post subject:  Re: slider design

U clamp yes... but with bolts going through the chassis. At least that's what I think the photos look like. I can't see any other way or securing the U clamp on there!
ie these ones:

harry loane, have you thought about using pipe instead of square tube? From my tafe courses ages ago it resists bending better. I think it looks nicer as well!

holes in chassis isn't the best idea without plating first IMO

Mr Fatzook knocked up some tidy mounts

DO NOT drill through the chassis. Unless you know what you are doing ( ie qualified to do such work) it is dangerous and illegal.

FYI, nobody drills chassis rails for sliders over here. There are far easier ways to mount a slider.

If you want some of these, let me know.

Fatzook... your TSOR link in your sig isn't working.

Can you make them for a SWB Vit?

Bolts over the top of the chassis rail:

Your second CAD is pretty much what we've done, but that lower bolt hole obviously won't work.

Post subject:  Re: slider design

Looks good to me ;) Don't forget some crush tube for the bolts so you don't squash your chassis rails.

You've measured to avoid crossmembers, brake line clips, body mounts etc yeah
