Hello,
I've been surfing this forum for quite some time and i love it.
i wanted the share with you guyd project even i'm not aus.
for almost a year i've been driving my coily without a front bumper...
and finaly i found some time and here it is-...


my coily chasis from the side: i wanted to mound to the factory holes.

i modeled the chasis with a friend and analyzed the strangh of the exsiting holes:

later i came with this:

made a spacer for added strength:

some parts assembeled on chasis: before & after-

now for the bumper itself: used a landrover defender oem frontbumper cut for the size-

start welding it:

front another angle:

didn't like the way it ends:

so i cut the corners:

added 2 spoties and 6mm aluminum skid plate:

stille some welding to do , paiting and maybe some holes in the skid plate, the whole thing weicht under 10 kg and can be used with hi lift.

I like your design.

How thick is the material you've used for the mounting plates? Looks like 1/2" :shocked:

I like the idea but if your going for that much strength surely some bolting wrap around plate that circles the tube cross member would be a good idea

Looks good... I've been thinking about what I'd like to do for my front and rear bumpers... I like the simple design with the tapered ends...

Thank you guys for the feedback!
Like you see it's not like one of the heavy duty bars you usualy making in aus.
first we don't have big kangaroo grossing the roads in israel, and in case of an accident i prefer the bumper to collapsed and not my chasis go bad.
my demand is much more humble than the serious off roader in aus.

Thaanks mate!
the outer plates are 6 mm, the inside plates with the recovery points on them are 12mm, the land rover defender bumper is 2.5mm thik.

i thought a bout it but from what i've seen it only needed if you gonna instal a winch.
