Even if you could justify the shift light, why did pick about 4600 rpm? Given a shift light is generally for performance reasons.... Have a look at this dyno graph, you're shifting WAY before max power and when you shift you're dumping it back down into the lower parts of the power curve. ![]() http://www.jimny-crew.com/jimny-on-the-dyno.html Set it for a few hundred rpm before the rev limit if you want to give it any purpose. If you need a shift light to tell you when you're revving it a little bit high around town you should probably be driving an auto. |

I love being picked on, makes me stay, not leave. I don't hear my motor very well, but with a manual Sierra I could feel when to change easily enough. Shift light could be wise for completely deaf drivers. |
