Post subject:  How to make a Travel Ramp ?
I am thinking about building a travel ramp.

I guess i could search. But that'd be no fun.. so what's the go with travel ramp specs?

How long? how steep etc?

and i;m sure i've asked this before, but what;s the rules with a travel ramp comp? "wheel base vs width" etc ?

I think 30 degrees is the important bit, length depends on the ability of the vehicles using it...

Does anyone know the formular for travel ramp comps?

wheelbase x height divided by 1000? or something weird like that.

all made, out of scrap so it's not real pretty, but seems to work.

flex looks goods too. how high is the backwheel to the ground?

I'm not sure how high the wheel is but i'll have a play tomorrow. It wasn't fully flexed bu i didn't want to go further because the wheel was going offline a bit. The tyres were wet and slid across the bars a bit... i'll have to address the sideways grip issue i think.

The top of the ramp is about 1780mm high. Outside measurement of the wheels/diff is 1720mm i think, so if i get near the top the diff would be vertical... could be scary , but i don't think it will flex that much anyway. The back flexes more than the front because the front is limited by the shock length.

Look at the start of the clip, then start cross referencing the name to a lot of offroad competitions, including previous Tuff Trucks
