I decided to go with one large drawer and a small storage volume to put permanent stuff in (snatch, jumper leads, 1st aid kit and a few tools)
This then left the drawer free for any other gear, the drawer was made big enough to fit my hand winch in and the wire and handle with plenty of room to spare.
I used 10mm structural ply, i decided upn this due to being quite light and nearly stiff enough, I did use several stiffening battens in places just to reduce the bending.
I decided not to use draw runners due to
a) expense
b) extra work
c) can be noisy and clank around
d) don't really need them

All up cost (from memory)
Carpet $80
Glue $80 (plenty left over for other projects though)
Ply $60
Screw $30
Latches $30
Nylon $30
Aluminium Strip $15

Total: $325

We sell it to use on boat trailers instead of rollers.

Nope.. only Boags. (unless it is home brew, then Coopers is fine)

So pyro, can you give me good discounts, or am I better to use works account?

There we go, updated the links.
It's still going strong and working great to stash all the junk that's kept in my car.
The nylon strips work really well and are heaps cheaper than proper draw runners if you're happy to not have full draw extension.

making a lift-up affair for the Jimny as opposed drawers, works for me as the top of the load area is always kept clear for the dog. intend making some bulkhead storage behind rear seats and putting mini-storage "chests" into those rear arm rests.
