Suzuki 4wd Club of Victoria

Meeting Details:
Location: AMRA Hall – 92 Wills St Glen Iris (Melway 59 H7) opposite Glen Iris Station
Date and Time: 8pm on 2nd Wednesday of each Month. No meeting for January.

Membership Details:
Joining Fee: $95 (includes t-shirt)
Renewing Fee: $70
The membership fees cover our 4wd Victoria Public Liability Membership and Insurance, along with the cost of running the club (i.e. hiring meeting hall).
The membership year runs from July to June.
Non Members are welcome to attend 3 club trips before being asked to join.

Membership Numbers:
Approx 25 members.

Club Contacts:
Forum: http://www.vic.suzuki4wd.com
Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/group...520905719/

Club Magazine:
No.

Club Driver Training:
No.

Club Activities (Various):
The number of club activities will vary from year to year, but generally we will have:
Day Trips: 2 per month. Varying levels of difficulty, primarily in state parks within 2 hours of Melbourne.
Camping Trips: Approx 4 per year.
Social Activities: Approx 4 per year. Social Activities for this year have included Restaurant Dinners out, a day trip to the cbd for our budding photographers, a Tech Night for learning hands-on wrenching on your car and a trip to Springvale Rifle Club for our wannabe Dirty Harrys.
Day Trips: 1 to 2 Day trips in the State Parks surrounding Melbourne per month.

Club Activities (Annual):
There are several club activities that run every year.
March – Adventure Tour (Labour Day Weekend)
August – Snow Trip to Mt Skene
November – Zook Club Cup (Melbourne Cup Day)
December – Christmas Camping Weekend

How to Get Involved:
The old-fashioned way to get involved is to come along to a club meeting, meet other members and find out about coming trips that you would like to attend.
The new-gen-y way to get involved is to pm any club member on this site, or come over to our forum, register, and pm us there.

What do you need to attend a Club Trip:
The minimum equipment for anyone attending a club trip is as follows:
1 x snatch strap
2 x rated shackles
1 x fire extinguisher
1 x first aid kit
All of these items can be bought from your local 4wd Accessories shop, and are good to have items in your car whether you become a club member or not.

Trip standards:
We run trips from easy to hard. Our ratings work as follows:
Easy: No significant problems for inexperienced drivers in standard cars. No significant chance of vehicle damage. Unlikely that recovery would be required.
Medium: A reasonably skilled driver in a standard car will do fine. Mild off road upgrades such as small tyre diameter increase or more aggressive tread pattern will be helpful. Recovery is likely. Vehicle damage is unlikely.
Hard: A standard vehicle is unlikely to complete the trip. 31" tyres and at least one diff lock recommended. Vehicle damage is possible and might be difficult to avoid due to track conditions. In general, a trip will be rated hard if there are no bypasses for difficult obstacles.

Our most popular and best attended trips are medium trips. These generally offer a range of experiences to keep everybody entertained.

Vehicle Type:
We are primarily about the Suzukis, but we do accept non-suzuki 4wd vehicles also.
Please note that we do not allow motorbikes on club trips unless approved by the trip leader.

We have attempted to answer all of the frequently asked questions from non-members in the above club writeup.

If you have something else that you would like to know about the Suzuki 4wd Club of Victoria, please feel free to ask and we will do our best to answer.

The original content of Greg's message above (first post) is now missing after the conversion? At least for me anyway. I think the next meeting is next Wednesday night but I am missing the time and location details. Can someone supply them again please. Thanks.

Just a heads up, the facebook link doesn't work.

Does the club run many trips towards the SA border? Just seeing what I'd be able to attend before signing up.

In the past there has been trips out to Portland, Robe, Little Desert, Big Desert and the Grampians.
Not been many recently,
but with an influx of new members wanting to do touring trips,
that is going to change.

Do you need to attend club meetings to become a member? I only go to Melbourne once a month (ish) and don't get there till real late on a Wednesday night.

Here is a video from our annual club "Adventure Tour" its the hardest trip of the year that the most modified cars go on. We have a good variety from easy and touring type trips up to trips like this.

Yes, club registration is now available, have to be a paid up member of the Suzuki Club of Victoria.
Not membership of forums.
For rules and other details, would need to speak to somebody other than me.

Hi All,

Feeling like a bit of an idiot, but I can't seem to pass the security question when trying to register to the forum, any advise? I keep entering the "characters" incorrect and exceeding the registration attempts.

Just to clarify, I enter the numbers in order as they appear, not the letters?

Sorry for the inconvenience, blonde moment I think!

Forum is currently being transferred to a new server. Should be back soon. So wait a bit and try again.
No idea what the security/not a robot setting are these days. But usuall type everything you can see, or select audio to hear it

Still a very active club. Forum still running well. A few use Facebook group, but most use the forum notice board. Club plate scheme is very popular, but it has rules and limits.
