I've been in some loose discussions with some of the ACT guys with regard to setting up a Suzuki group and looks like we may in the end get something going.
So, I'm on the lookout for others keen to get some other regional groups happening. Newcastle, Wollongong, Port Macquarie, Wagga Wagga, Forster, Coffs Harbour etc.... If your in a regional area and know of a few Zook guys around and would like to get a local club happening, I'd love to talk to you.
As explained to others, the thought is for members of these groups to join the NSW Suzuki Club and use the admin / insurance / website / magazine that is already setup. All you then have to do locally is arrange your group activities/meeting and post them up in our trip calendar (4wd, Social etc...).
Everyone who is a club member then gets access to all trips and activities around the state. So if you fancy a weekend away someplace, you may find that the local group has a trip happening that you can tag onto. It also means that regional areas that have only a few Zook owners get access to and the leverage with vendors of a much larger Zook club.
We've also got the NSW historic rego scheme happening for vehicles over 30 years old that are standard (with period modifications), that as a member you can access. These vehicles can then be used for club trips only, so with more club trips happening statewide, you'll get a lot more use from your historic vehicle. We also have group events like Zukana (our trials based comp.) and to have all NSW Zooks coming together for these would be awesome.
If you don't like clubs, so be it, but there are definate benefits to being a member. I'm aiming for these groups to be run as the locals see fit, we do have a few rules that have to be followed as a club member but there not onerous and as a member, I've never run up against a problem with them.
So if you have any thoughts, send me a PM or call me on 0417 651 196. The NSW Zook club would give you any help we can to get a local group running in your area.

I would like to join the new Suzuki club! I am already halfway through starting up a local club at the moment but as soon as that is out of the way, I would like to get something happening around here for all the local zook owners!

Is it an official club with insurance etc? I've looked on the listing be can't see it on there. I'm considering joining a club but unsure of which.

I'm in the NSW Suzuki Club and also in the MX5 Club of NSW and is has multiple chapters all over NSW - it's a great way to set it up because every weekend I have plenty of outings to choose from depending on how far I want to drive.
Hope this gets up for the Suzuki Club as well because it would be great to be able to get local knowledge of tracks from people already in the area.
