You'll need to change everything. And without a suck down winch, they're no good in my opinion. Take a leaf out, that's probably as good as it gets providing your shocks arent limiting anything. RUF (Rear springs in the front) is the way to go, but it's work. |

I agree. I Was twin locked before I had any flex and went everywhere. I just had wheels fairly distant from the ground a lot. When I got RUF, I just lifted rear wheels less.. But the wheelbase extension as small as it was helped a lot. Flex helps with balance if its sensible. |

Absolutely. Too much flex though makes a car spooky. PS Deego - Atari was taking the piss. Drop shackles are retarded. Steve. |

deego you are going to have to learn to use the search function, its at the top of the screen between FAQ and members, its a bit tricky at times but can be really helpful, especially with topics like RUF, which you wouldnt be aware of has been asked about a gazillion times, myself included when i first joined. RUF means rears up front, ie, rear leaf springs used in the front so you have four rear springs installed to give more flex. There are 2 ways to do this, some people use extended shackles and then re drill the rear spring perch, others extend the front of the chassis to get the extra length and flex, it depends on what you want to acheive and how comfortable you are with welding and cutting as to which way you would go about it |

Deego wrote: Are the back springs difference to the front.how does it make more flex they longer Rear springs have more camber (or "arch") They are longer by approximately 80mm They have a much lower rate. However, regardless of how you get the springs under the car, RUF is a a fairly involved and complex process - you are messing with important stuff. Search is your friend. Steve. |

Dont worry about everyones Pay outs it just comes with the knowledge none of us mean to be rude we just like to get to the point and want people to do there own research first and then clarrify later. You will be surprised how much you can learn on this forum jsut by reading other threads and if your not up for that kind of research then you'll prob be making costly unneeded mistakes down the line that i can almost guarrentee someone on here has done before you. |

You've come here to learn. Thats great. But just like university, the teachers are here to guide you, not spell it out for you. Thats what the search function and half a billion threads about RUF already on the forum for. Most people here are willing to help mate, but when it appears that you are putting in NO effort at all to find shit out for yourself, it does bring out the type of responses you've seen here. |

I was watching a DVD one bloke has a 2 inch spring and body lift 2 inch extendable shackles and longer shocked and he gets pretty good flex that looks like a easy mod to do saves doing a RUF . |

| Post subject: | Re: Getting more flex |
Extended shackles are not the best way, they give less approach angle. Body lift has nothing to do with flex. 2inch lift with ruf is way better then a car with 2" spring, body lift and extended shackles. |

Extended shackles with the mount moved back/forward would give more flex. |
