Technically a 215/75R15 on a WT is illegal. |

Could you say 'technically' that the sierra utes came with 600-16's which are about 28.3 inches. 29 inches is still outside 15mm but if they were a touch under then your within the 15mm. Probably not worth the shit fight with the copper that pulls you up for it though. |

You could - and in that case you should have a NT with funky sizes like 6.00-16 and Q74? listed on your tyre placard. |

But the police aren't the problem - what's a demerit point or 2 and a relatively small fine? The problem is your insurance cover - or rather lack of if you run into the back of someone and your insurer knocks back your claim due to your oversize tyres possibly playing a role in why you couldn't stop in time... |

i've had 31's for over a year and never had a drama with police. pulled up for RBTs a few times too... as long as the flares cover them and its not lifted massively, most cops dont care. most... as mentioned, insurance companies will try and get out of paying the damage for you if you have bigger tyres, especially if you rear end someone... |
