Why don't you do what every other normal person would do and get a tape measure and check where it's going? I assume its going into the normal spot? Then take your measurements to where your going to get your battery and see what fits. Seems to me to be an easy fix. |

1. Open the bonnet, 2. Guess and measure the height (with the bonnet close) 3. Buy a battery (Don’t take the caps off the terminals) 4. Test fit (Just sit it in there) 5. Take back if to large (If you haven’t taken the caps off the terminals) Not rocket science |

It's not that easy to duck down to supercrap when your 45 mins out of town, the previous dodgy owner had a battery in that was shorting out on the bonnet which melted one of the terminals, I chucked in my spare sierra battery but its even taller, my Holden Astra has more room for the battery than the vit |

so why not, measure the height of the battery that was too tall. (it obviously fitted cos the bonnet closed, it just shorted im assuming) measure the space in the other directions and find a battery that is say 10mm lower than the one you had in there and fits within the other dimensions. seems pretty straight forward to me. |

My battery was doing the same thing (93 LWB Vit) but only because the terminals were directly under a rib of the bonnet bracing. Spin battery around 180deg, bit of shuffling of cabling and problem solved. Otherwise, as suggested above, subtract 10mm from current battery, or get a sheet of 3mm high density rubber and glue it to the bonnet above the battery. |

A little Yellow top Optima fits, so working backwards on those dimensions and the dimensions of the battery thats sposed to fit, any Generic old Commodore or Falcon Battery (Depending on terminals) should go in no drama, the bigger batteries are lower than the ones thats meant to go in But what the point? the stock size battery spins the engine no drama and any extra capacity to leave the headlights on before it goes flat is marginal at best |

I had a NRMA battery when i first got the Vit... It looked like a battery out of a toy car :/ I left the radio on for 5mins = dead battery.. The battery i have in now, is 3 times the size, Ive left the lights on for over 12 hours and it still didnt go flat Just go into supercrap, and look at there charts. I got the one that was for the VIT and the highest compacity. Only issue i found with the bigger battery was that the Terminals were bigger on it... and had to change them in the car |

I fitted a Optima Yellow Top D51 41Ah battery in my 92 SWB. Height wise its the biggest I would dare go before potentially touching the bonnet. |
