Hey all; new to the forums, hoping to get a clear answer on a wheel dilemma. I am planning on installing the Calmini lift on my 1999 GV, and was hoping to pick up a set of wheels and tires for it to have ready to go once the lift was in. After talking to Calmini, I've realized that finding a wheel to run a 235/75 -16 tire on with the 2.5" backspace that Calmini recommends is pretty much impossible. So rather than order custom wheels, I've decided that I'll just get some quality spacers to make up the difference and powder coat my JLX alloy wheels. I have had zero luck finding an exact number for the backspacing on the alloy wheels of a 1999 GV, and being as my car is currently sitting on mine, I was hoping I could get some input from you guys as to what to do next. **Edit Being that I am in the US, I should have probably remembered to convert things away from inches >_>. |

I'm running the calmini lift with 16x7 zero offset wheels mate and they seem to fit fine. Sits pretty much flush with the outer guards with 235s on it. I'm running 235/85s so had a heap of scrubbing but nothing a bit of trimming couldn't fix. Wheel spacers are a legal minefield here in Aus but as you are in the US I presume they would probably be fine, so that'd be one of the easiest options if you want to get closer to the recommended backspacing. You are right about suitable wheels being hard to find though, there is pretty much no alloys out there in a 16x7 with negative offsets (ie. <3.5" backspacing) from what I could find. |

I appreciate the input. I may either go with the 1" space from spidertrax or the 1.5" they make that is designed for the CJ. While constantly checking the torque on them every 1000 miles isn't ideal, it beats having to get a custom wheel with a reverse rim configuration. |

So is it safe to say that on my 'premium' alloys, the offset is zero, making the backspace 4 inches? |
