The carbi in my 1990 widetrack sierra is on the way out. Is it worth getting it rebuilt by a professional or am i better off buying a brand new aftermarket one like a webber or another brand ?

find a toyota 4k carb.... about $50(if that) at a wreckers.. grab the brace for the accel. cable while your there.. throw that on and give it a run.. you will be surprised.. then have the original rebuilt.. throw that back on.. or flog it off..
my 0.2c anyway..

Alternatively a vit carb. is apperently a good swap as well..

What gives you the impression that the carby is on its way out?

Local mechanic had a look at it last week whilst trying to find out why it was using so much petrol and said the carbi is due to be replaced or rebuilt.
