Post subject:  hub nut tool
I'll be needing a hub nut tool soon due to a cracked cv boot,
is there a cunning diy option or should i just order one from our kiwi cousins?

That bloke is one of our resident machinist/parts makers. Very good quality. The other option is a pin punch/hammer. But the hub tool would be much, much better

Yep. That's him. Another positive is being able to get an absolute spot on tension to do them up also

Don't Vitaras(/coilies) use a cassette bearing that you do up as tight as you can then another half a turn not the old leafy Sierra tapered bearings that need pre-load set correctly?

there is a specified torque for the nut, its high but still specified

the engineers cant devise the bearings preload without saying how much to squish it

ill start saving/collecting,
i might as well do the springs and struts at the same time.
I am beginning to think a rattle gun would be handy for the hub nut and the strut tops,
are electric (240v) rattle guns worth the trouble?
