To fit them, you'll need a body lift, guard bash/chop, bumpstop spacing or a combination of all 3. Generally 2" body lift and a minor seam bashing is what most people do. If you still have the stock bumper mounting outriggers attached to the chassis you'll need to chop them off.

If you want the extra capability that comes with larger tyres you'll need to change your gearing. Most people opt to upgrade the transfer case gearing rather than diff gears.

If you want any reliabilty with those heavy tyres, you'll need to upgrade your CVs. You'll need to fit some WT diffs to fit off-the-shelf CroMo CVs, otherwise a big supply of CVs would be wise.

nothing wrong with stock sierra CV's and 31's so long as theres no front locker...

if you do tcase gears you need to brace the mounts as well or you'll be forever lunching them.

Do you actually need such a big tyre?

I just put some 215/75R15s on my stock drover, and it does pretty well for itself for what i want to do with it.

It seems to me there was too much work ($$) involved with fitting such big tyres to such a small car, not worth it to me as i dont intend on going to the extreme off roading level that others do.

Ok any idea how much it would set me back to get it capable of running 30's

Traction, gearing and 31's can very easily break stock CV's unlocked.

Lol you've seen what/how alien drives :thefinger:

Cleggie: If you stick with 235/75s (29's) you will save yourself a lot of hassle with other mods to make them fit whilst being pretty capable if you can drive. I would also consider a set of reduction gears even with this size. 4:1 work quite well and can be bought for around ~$400ish
