Post subject:  head light relay position 91 vitara

hi guys where is the headlight relay on a 91 VIT lost my high beam only and when i put hi beam on lights go out... not even the little blue indicator light comes on in the dash cluster all fuses look fine in fuse box and have power each side changed bulbs but still dead.. they are not getting voltage on the light plug i have checked that already

As far as I know, you will not have a relay for high or low beam. The lights are switched at the stalk on the column, so I would start there. Check you are getting power on the other side of the high beam switch with it turned on.

which color is high beam feed out of the stalk

Pull the stalk plug out from the loom and check the continuity between the black and red wires for high beam, also while your there check it between the black and red with a white strip, this is the low beam and should be working fine. Remember to switch on the lights and hit hi/low beam when you check.

Also check you have voltage at the headlights between the white with a red strip and the body of the car, power on or off this should be there with standard wiring.

IF ANYONE IS INTRESTED RELAY IS IN MODULE WHERE blinker stalk is non servicable unit realy easier just to get 2nd hand one
