What diameter is the fuel sender on the leafy fuel tank and has no one found a drop in efi pump+sender from another vehicle to fit it? |

thank you , i am aware of the coily fuel tank option. Suzuki tanks tend to have the fuel level meter and fuel pump as separate items in the fuel tank. It has come to my attention that other manufacturers make combo units. As there are a ton of leafy owners (82-96!) trying to get their hands on coily tanks (96-98) i figured started thinking maybe other intank option might be feasible. If i knew the diameter of leafy it wuld save me time of dropping my own tak Surge tanks are an option but as stated in other threads they have their drawback in an offroad vehicle. |

gauge sender ID on a Sierra/Vitara is 40mm. Vitara pump flange ID is 65mm I don't think you'll find a combo unit that's 40mm OD. Most combo units I have seen are huge. Steve. |

yeah after my last post i spent a lot of time trawling through ebay listings and comparing the images it became pretty obvious quick. i found a measurement for 5 point universal gauge sender gas at 40mm ID so its good to confirm the suzuki are same. Knowing that the most common in tank pump is ussualy a 38mm borsh kills the chances of a OEM combo unit with 40mm combo unit but i'm not ruling out the concept completely A 38mm pump should still slip into a 40mm hole, and the unit would only need a single hose out as you could use the exsiting hoses for return etc (8mm?) and wires (another 5mm) At the very least you could have a pump without a gauge sensor and just rely on odometer (which is basically what i have ben doing for 10 years) I have some ideas about the level sensor but it not worth going into into the basic idea works and the pickup point is usable. i'm guessing baffles etc might come into play |
