Ok so I'm looking at moving over to Sierra from vitara, A mate has his for sale with 2" body 2" suspension and 2" extended shackles He got rego without a engineer cert as is, obviously something's not right! So how much actual lift is he getting from these mods? He also states that the tyres on it which are 235's are a stock standard tyre? That doesn't sound right either Any help appreciated, never looked into Sierras much |

2" suspension + 2" body +1.5" tyres = 5.5" lift total over stock. (stock tyres are 205/70r15 = 26") |

2 inch body + 2 inch suspension + 1 inch in shackles + 1 ½ inches in tyres = 6 ½ inches total. |

2 inch body + 2 inch extended shackles+ 2 inch lift Well there's your problem, Seems like it's has about 3 inches of surplus lift. If you were to buy it , removing the extended shackles and body lift. would not only make it less obvious that it modified but also more stable and a better drive. Extended schacles ruin steering. Just my 2 cents. |

+1 Pull the extended shackles out. In most cases they are hack and dodgy way of getting cheap lift and looking "tough" and they ruin castor and dynamic vehicle behaviour. Very few extended shackles are set up correctly If it was me, I would pull either suspension lift or body lift out, or both. Depending on how I was going to use the vehicle, how much tyre I wanted, and how much guard cutting and/or fabrication I think is acceptable for it's intended use. As above, 235's are not stock. That's a huge amount of lift for 235s, considering you can run bigger tyres without any lift. A up to around 31" is accepted as being pretty reliable. A skinny 31" (7r16, 7.5r16 etc) will perform better than a 31x10.5 imo. Whats the gearing like? |

Thanks for the replies guys, I have no idea how he has passed rego then without the engineer cert, I will be running big tyres 32 or 33", but will have to allocate for gearing. Thanks for all the help! |
