hi all, trying to get my sierra sorted and have a few Q's. sj80 with g16a. airbox to carby boot doesn't line up, what other model will fit? it was sold to me rotated around with the rocker cover/engine breather tucked up under the air boot. ![]() ![]() radiator/fan shroud bolts only line up on drivers side, both passenger side bolts are wring spot? i guess one has been changed?? any suggestions? ![]() what are these bars called running from pillar to tray? do i need them? (random pic off the web) ![]() is this a sierra carby or vitara? i assume its what came in the 1.6 but want to check for future reference. ![]() are the sj80 rear single seat mounts the same as other sierras? i am missing one and need it for roadworthy. thanks for your time. cheers ken. |

Sierra carb. Bars are there to help seat belts restrain you, b pillar and windscreen in an accident. Very much needed. I have a set I can sell and post up if you require. rad is different, guessing carby vit, shroud appears to be sierra. Find a carby vit shroud? Imo needed, can overheat at low speeds without the shroud. There are locating lugs on the lid and box to put it in the correct position. It may be slightly out and dodged due to the engine being higher. Assuming no body lift. Id just make it fit, using hose mods etc or leave it rotated as long as it seals etc. You may need to rotate the whole air box, or trim the locating lugs so it fits where you want |

Jdk, are you sure SJ80's had the diagonal bars? Remember the SJ80 has a fully welded cab structure which should be much more rigid - I wasn't sure they had the bars, they were an SJ40/50/70 thing. Steve. |

Just checked about 5 Coil builds on here and none had the diagonal bars when otherwise standard/close to standard. |

interesting, just had a look at heaps of sj80 on google images and i think u may be right, one less thing i need to track down. there is a bolt hole above the wheel arches, but there is none on the pillar. unless it bolts to the seatbelt bolt thanks. |

Yes, the stock bars bolt to the seatbelt bolt in leaf sprung sierras. Remember though, in a leaf sierra you can fold the windscreen and remove the stays above the doors, which means the B pillar is sitting up there all by itself. That's why the diagonals are important. That's not the case with your coil tub. Steve. |
