I am having trouble getting my steering wheel open/+ off. I have the workshop manual, eg inc airbag disconnection etc. but im stuck with getting the sucker off the steering column, let alone, open. Steering wheel is three spoke type with srs airbag. Has large screws in the two sides but cant even get them with impact drill. the horn cover is on there good and I don't have a hole at the rear of the wheel for a screw driver to pop it open. any experience with this? |

Cant help with getting the wheel off, but if your taking it off to re-center it after a lift, its easier/quicker to adjust the tie in rod end on the draglink. Speaking from experience after i had to do it several times on my 2010 Jimny |

Yes. That's the drag link. I would avoid removing the steering wheel if it can be avoided. |

had a crack at this link today, with a bit of rost off to clean up the thread.. I couldn't rotate the bar for the life of me. So I tried removing the link pin at the steering wheel end to just rotate the thread and not the rod, but that pin is in there good. Though about taking off the large nut holding the perpendicular, black arm on but that sucker is torques up well. Thought it would be wise to check if there is a suitable method to adjusting the drag link before I brake something.? |

Just another thing to remember, if you move the steering wheel off centre the steering box will still try to self centre and this will be a pain forever. Best to adjust the drag link to centre the steering wheel and leave the wheel alone so you know when the steering box is on centre. I had no problems adjusting my 2009 model drag link once the lock nuts were undone. It does not seem to be subject to any corrosion. |

So after re-setting the front left spring, I still had the clunking noise. ehhhh... so simple. Bottom bolt was lose on link. noise gone. ![]() These are the specs bobjane put up from the alignment, I have little understanding of these specs. If anything stands out, I would love to know... have not put castor correction bushing in at this stage. ![]() of to Kwinana for the arvo
