have my plans all drawn up with measurements but im undecided on material. originally i was going to go with qubelok (or connect it from bunnings) but blew out the budget at the moment. 12mm MDF is really cheap (can get the sheets i need for under $40) but im unsure that over time and with all the stuff on top of the drawer will take he weight not saying im putting a ton of stuff on though. a mate of mine has a drawer made of plywood in his GU which made me think about which is best. looked into plywood and its only $46 for 2400mm x 1200mm x12mm and did a bit of searching around as to what wood is best but no real answers. |

I would use formply for that application. It's dearer but the hard black facing is basically ready to go and requires no further preparation. I would not use MDF. |

Definitely not MDF. Apart from being dangerous stuff to work with (carcinogenic dust) is is quite weak. Use plywood, it is much stronger and safer. |

I would not use MDF either . I am using 12mm ply in 2400 x 1200 for $39.10 each at the moment with clear or paint to seal it . |

If you so much as sneeze near MDF the moisture warps it. So yeah, what these dudes ^^ said. |

MDF won't work. Screws will pull out with vibration. Any moisture will kil it |

MDF is only good for turning off cuts and dust into money for those who sell it! What ever you use look at weight, water resistance and long term reliability! |
