Hey first post and im just curious as to what modds people do to their gv's i have a 2000 2.5l grand vitara that i plan to optimise for 4x4 and touring. My first modd will most likely be an xrox bar. What modds are recommended by you guys. Cheers in advance |

My advice is save the money from the ugly-ass xrox bar and use that cash for far better mods. Like underbody protection and some decent rubber. |

After having one (2003 auto 2.5) And just about to offload it. There are a few things that you need to think about, these are thirsty cars. As soon as you take the stock plastic front bumper off it exposes the undercarriage and up goes the mileage. Then lifting, bigger/wider tyres racks and accessories only make it worse. Some have trouble with cv's breaking, I never had that and even with heavy duty lifted front springs my cv angle was really good as I had the steel winch bumper with winch and second battery up front to keep it down. As henno says, underbody protection (the crossmembers get hammered on these) and good rubber are better well spent. I used mine for alot of touring towing a trailer and it was great but Im liking my NGV diesel way better right now. |

If you fit 245/75r16 and wheel harder stuff you will pop cv's like toothpicks. A mate has his twin locked, he broke 2 x cv's on the beach. Stick with all terrains and mildly sized tyres and they go well |

Are there any avaliable up grades for the cv's as id prefer to get a set of muddies also thanks on the under body protection as i had completely disregarded it |

No upgrade for front axle Beware many suspension "kits" are complete garbage |

I've fitted 50 mm lift ,225 75 16 bfg km2 muddies, a rear locker, uneek 4x4 front winch bar, dual batteries, a 3 inch stainless snorkel, a winch and a storage system. it's not the biggest or best 4wd around but I'll tell you what it's kept up with plenty of bigger trucks with much more money, lift and bigger tyres on them. so far a sensible right foot and good line choice and I haven't broken anything Sent from my SM-N920I using Tapatalk |
