Hey guys, thinking of doing dual battery setup in the wagon for those weekends away. anyone mounted a battery under the middle/rear seats in an xl7? I've got some vrla (agm) batteries in my camper thinking about mounting one on its side under the seat Anyone got any other ideas Nic |

why mount it under the seats when you can put it under the bonnet I've got a 2004 gv with an 85 amp hour optima yellow top under the bonnet . Sent from my SM-N920I using Tapatalk |

Send a pic of ur engine bay. I would have to move washer bottle and overflow bottle at minimum |

Later models of the GV (he has a 2004) have the washer bottle in the front guard, which makes it easier to do a dual battery under the hood. |

If a second battery can be fitted under a new jimnys bonnet then a GV should be easy. |

To put them under the seat I'd lift up the bar that you use to slide the middle row; the Maxi Bin would fit under with it lifted, but once released it wouldn't slide back out. The controller was a kit one from Jaycar (no longer available) that relied on resistance in the cabling to the battery for voltage feedback. So a good kit given the length of the cable run from the controller to the middle row seat. If I was doing it again I'd use a DC-DC charger. |
