| Post subject: | LJ to SJ |
Sorry in advance I have sort of been offered an SJ by someone I don't really know. He said all of the parts are transferable to my LJ80. Being new to this I don't know what I can bolt off and bolt on. I have tried trawling through the posts but cant find a definitive answer. Any help would be appreciated. I don't want another car, because someone is trying to clear their garage and have found an easy target Can anyone tell me what I can bolt off and bolt on without any major mechanical modifications. Thank you. |

If it's a 1.3l the front swivel hubs for a disc conversion are about the only useful part. Suspension, wheels ect swap but Sierra springs have different camber so it makes LJs sit front high. If it's a 1l then the motor bolts in. The diff 3rd members also swap over but they're 4.11 instead of 4.556. 1l swivel hubs also go on, you need 1l CVs to do the conversion but they're super cheap new and generally a total freakin pain in the asre to get off the axles. Early 1ls have front drums. You can also swap these but they get you pretty much nothing but a freewheeling hub. |
