Just saying hi from the United States. I joined the board to get a little more info on the G13BB. I’m thinking about swapping one into my 1988 Samurai, which it not a common swap here. If anyone has any input on g13bb vs g13a I’d like to hear it. Most people here do a g16, but that involves more lifting than I’d care to do on my Zuk.

You can squeeze a g16b in without any lift. While the g13bb isnt common, it would be an improvement, but I would do a g16b. G16b from a baleno/esteem/cultus would be my pick, as they are the newest, and neatest installed. |

I was also under the impression the oil pan doesn't clear unless you want to put the smaller samurai oil pick up and pan on it. Am I wrong, because that would be awesome. |

My 1.6 has no body lift Samurai sump is fine just has the hump positioned for diff clearance |

Swap to samurai sump and pickup. There would be hundreds of samurais/Sierra's running the g13 sump and pickup on a g16 without issue. If your chosen tyre size demands bumpstop spacing you may be able to run a tracker/kick sump and pickup. I do in my car. |

Are you gus running 8v 1.6 engines then? They must not have a crank postiom sensor then. |

Find a Suzuki Baleno/Esteem, Hard to say what models you got over there. You got at least one model G16B with a dizzy on the back of the head. You can change the cam from an efi Vitara/Tracker. Another option if you have it, The later Esteem had no dizzy, Twin coils on the cam cover, No need for a body lift on either esteem motors, easier fit depending on your skills in some fab work for a sump sensor and rerouting water from the back of the head. You just modify the sump to suit. Cut and weld the baleno ckp sensor part from baleno sump into the sierra/samurai sump. I have a vit/tracker/sidekick 16v 1.6 in one car, its a little high and the intake routing sucks. I have a baleno/esteem in my other sierra/samurai. But more effort on the sump, but overall much neater and it sits lower. |

Thanks for all info. We didn't have any carbureted 1.6s, so that's not a problem. We did have a few 1.6 vehicles with a cam sensor instead of a dizzy. I'll look into that direction. |
