I've got myself a 95 wt leaf spring Sierra convertible, planning to bring some levity to my existence.
The rules around tire height and lift height to have a roadworthy and legal car are clear as mud as everyone in the game appears to have a different rule book.

The car has had around 20mm body lift and the tyres are 29 inch maybe a bit more.

What is the legal height of tire or body that my car can have in VIC in 2018?
Is there any issues with track width or rim size?

Where can i find this information chiseled in stone to crush the hearsay and confusion, keeping angry bureaucrats, insurance companies and the missus from pecking me any closer to death?

I have no budget or interest in engineer certification to put it all in order?

Cheers

the national transport guideline to vehicle modification and "Vehicle Standards Bulliten 14"

https://vicroads-search.clients.funnelb ... y=4wd+lift

page 7 of the bulletin above.

OR

look up your stock vehicle wheel plackard and height - check it in "willtheyfit.com" against the size you're running
read up on VSB14 preface to LS09 and LS10 (the 50mm lift made from total of suspension and body blocks, plus additional 25mm tyre lift section)

it's very clear once you know the original height of your vehicle and tyre size.

Well i'm running through the numbers and it doesn't look good.
My overall height is okay but the tires are 1.74 inches too big and my rims are a half inch too wide and the track is too wide as well.
There is no tire placard on my car but it all seems the same 205/70/r15 tire size for this model.

Unfortunately it seems i'd have to get some original wheels and all the tire choices look pretty bland, illegal or expensive.

215 75 15 will be legal IMHO, which are a useful and effective size.
