Ok so I’m looking for a 5speed swap for my lj81 yes it does still have the f8a currently. I would love a bolt in swap but don’t mind fiddling with it to get it to fit. What model gear box should I look for thanks Tom

There is no bolt in swap 5 speed. The 5 speed conversion is quite complicated, involves finding some really rare parts and involves a lot of work.

In my opinion for some better highway gearing you're better off moving to 4.1 diffs gears from a NT 1l sierra, they bolt into the LJ diff housings and will give about a 10% decrease in highway revs. You'll probably want to look at an F10a conversion to help pull the taller gearing.

Ok thanks it’s just someone told be they got a 1L 5 speed and changed one thing and bolted it on

I have a 5 speed to fit that I dont require,it was on a 1litre but the selectors were not fitted correctly and he could not get second gear I havent looked at it if you are interested let me know.
