Has anyone put a diesel in a Jimny. if so what motor did you use and what was the rough price for the conversion

What was involved and was engineering hard

I have never heard of one in Australia. The reasons it's a bad idea are pretty much the same as for any other suzuki, which have been covered in depth. Also be aware that a laden jimny generally already has the front axle over it's rated maximum load, before you double the weight of the engine with a Diesel.

There is a factory Diesel version of the Jimny (which is why our 2012 on 'up-date' cars got a bonnet scoop) - think the NZ market got them.
Might be an option to import a half cut? but there is bound to be diff ratio differences, fuel tank set up? & electronics to deal with.
Would be the easiest option, but still probably not that easy.
Like Gwagensteve says, GVM, engineering & handling issues would all raise their ugly heads.

The bonnet scoop was a JDM part for the K6a engine AFAIK, but yes, the diesel also used a top mount intercooler.

Google the K9K engine and you will understand why its not popular and why people in Europe and the like prefer to swap in the 1.9 TDI.
