I’ve had a few of mine which were stuck in place with an Epoxy glue or something. Can’t tell you if it’s factory but it was a royal pain in the shinola to get off, I think I damaged one but saved a few.

if you dont give a rats about ruining the old knob or its already rooted just stick a set of vice grips on it and twist until it comes off

If you do want the knob to survive try a system like oil filter removal tools. The harder you press the tighter the strap becomes. I reckon you could knock one up with stuff laying around the shed (if you’re prone to having lots of stuff laying around the shed like me).

Ok thanks for the help so it definitely just twists off nothing more to it?

Yep. It’s not reverse thread or anything tricky, just stuck on.
