HI I have recently purchases a LWB 85 that has EFS springs and shocks. I am guessing a 3 inch lift . suz 03 written on the end. The ride is terrible/ rough as . Am looking for a alternative . Has anyone one used the Fulcrum ones on ebay link is below . Three options/ ways forward. Derate the existing springs by removing leaves Purchase Old Man Emu leaves- these are the best riding aftermarket leaf spring. And confirm it’s not your shocks. Remove the rear shocks and go for a drive. (Yes, I’m serious)- many aftermarket shocks for sierras are much too stiffly valved and they make the car ride poorly. |

Also consider your shackle angle and aim for 45° the closer you can get to that the more comfortable its going to be. Bearing in mind any new springs will take a fair amount of offroading to soften up unless as mentioned you remove a leaf or 2 depending on your load carrying requirements. Offroad with weight in the back and efs 65mm on a lwb your stock length shackles will also invert and fold up |

I removed the back shocks and it did improve the ride a small amount. I filled up a 200 litre poly drum cut in half with bedding sand . Landscaper said it would weigh around 220/250 kg for the 2 halves filled. That weight only dropped the back down about 30 mm and the shackle angle was still vertical. Took the bone jarring out of it. So I will look for some longer main leafs and take out bottom and middle . My research tells me Mazda 808 is the go. The bloke at Carol springs said they were the heaviest springs that EFS sell. I can't imagine anyone wanting to carry that much weight in a Zook |

Just derate then- pulling leaves will likely deliver the ride you want. Starting as a heavy duty spring will give you plenty of leaves to play with. |

Sounds like you have the efs hd lwb springs. These are 20mm shorter than the regular efs 65mm and horrendous for comfort unless carrying alot of weight and are designed specifically for lwb's not to invert under load with stock length shackles. You need regular 65mm efs rears but as i mentioned they will invert with a stock length shackle in the rear. The hd lwb rear top spring is however perfect length for a hassle free rears up front spring conversion. (Search ruf for explination) |

So It has taken me a couple of months to get around to sorting out the springs. I have fitted new OME rear springs to the back and am now looking at the front. As you can see this one is bent and the ride is rough( could be the shocks) Looking at the old EFS springs they are shorter than OME rears so if I were to use them in the front as suggested how many leafs to remove. The EFS are thicker leaves so am thinking remove the second and bottom two |

That sounds reasonable. Just see how bad the sierra lean ends up, you might need to put the second leaf back in on the driver's side. |

I normally run 4 on drivers and 3 on pass with those springs. Dont forget to use them up front you will need longer brake lines, longer shackles, longer shocks, longer bumpstops and maybe a few tops on the rear of the headlight buckets. You dont want it too soft as with the increased shackle angle the ride will be quite soft anyway. |
