Hi guys, Need the dimensions of the OEM Sierra seat rails. Need to check if the rails in my car strapped to the hyundai seats are the Sierra ones. I suspect they aren't because they're sitting up on a spacer block between the rails and the floorpan and look short. If they are OEM gonna be easier as I'll be able to chuck a Baleno seat in there and it'll apparently pass rwc I've been told. Otherwise I still need a Sierra seat by Tuesday

Don’t have a tape measure with me but if you send a pic of your rails I might be able to compare them? |

Swift GTi ones are almost bolt in, Drill a few holes in original sierra rails Not sure about other Baleno seats, But the sporty type ones are definitely not bolt in. Need adaptors made because of the height adjustment mech |

Cheers guys, got hold of some seats out of a drover today. Fingers crossed the floorpan hasn't been mangled too much ha. |

 Fucks sake can't win with the seats. Don't match at all. Guess it won't make the roadworthy. Nobody has any seats lying around they wanna loan to get me across the line? Pretty please?EDIT: I'm confused here. Everything I'm reading says the leaf sprung seats were the same all the way through. Am I missing something on the floorpan? Mines just flat where the seat sits with two holes spaced about 400ish in length (drivers side). |

You’re going to need to post a photo of your floor with the seat removed. Sounds like the factory seat rail supports have been removed. |

Not sure about your location, but in WA changing seats was as simple as filling out some paperwork with DOT for sports seats. Same as an aftermarket exhaust... They check the seat slides and reclines and you're done. |

Need an engineering cert here in Vic. Just posted to a Facebook group and yep, missing the factory mounts they've been cut off fuuuuck. Guess I'll need to pony up for the engineering cert. Current setup is a long block that runs lengthways mounted to the floorpan with a bolt at each end, the rails are then bolted to that. Feels sturdy enough to me but what is everyone's thoughts on that. Reckon they'll want the floorpan braced underneath? |

Just saw your FB post. It’s not just the front cross member you’re missing, it’s the two rear raised seat mounts that have been removed as well, not a neat job either You have two options I think, as you said it’s possible to have something engineered. Otherwise if you found a donor car you could remover the cross member and rear raised seat mounts and put them into your car. If you’re looking at replacing the original seat mounts then you can separate them from the donor body by drilling out the spot welds, remove the remaining bits of the old mounts from your car then spot weld in the donor mounts. Depends on what works better for you but it is an option. Your choice might come down to what seats you want to run long term, standard seats or something better |

That's pretty much exactly what I was going to type after seeing the FB post. For a number of reasons, I removed these mounting points from my own car and replaced the driver's side with new material.  that's what I ended up with to directly mount Recaro generic slides to my car. I used to have these sliders adapted to suit stock Sierra mounts, but with the new seats I was using I needed to lower the seats. You can see the original ute passenger side mount in this photo, which is what the driver's side of a SWB sierra looks like. It would't be easy to cleanly remove the stock seat bulkheads from a sierra without damaging them (I couldn't) in fact, I think it would be easier to cut the whole relevant sections of floor out and weld them into your car with the seat mounts you need. Big job though. I'd do anything possible to avoid engineering seat mounts alone though, it's an expensive process for no real gain. I'd leave engineering for proper upgrades like an EFI motor etc. You could try one thing, and that would be using a passenger side seat base on the driver's side. these bolt to the flat floor, and you *might* be able to get that through RWC as it's all stock and matches the passenger side. Make sure you cleanup all the scrappy shit the previous butcher left, give it all a dust up with a rattle can so it looks neat and it would be hard to find an inspector who would pick up on it. Could be a gamble Only thing that you’d need to do is drill the holes and mount/weld nuts and perhaps some support beneath the panel for the mounting bolts to secure to. Even if it gets you past inspection then you’ve got the time to sort out a permanent solution. |

Actually. Just checked my SJ70 passenger seat and that bolts to the floor and slides, not tilt. They could be rails from a Baleno or Swift perhaps, they’re not stock seats and I didn’t put them in. Can anyone pick the rails?  I’ve got the car chockers at the moment so detailed pics are difficult |
