I need some help with my car
I have an EMU stand alone ecu (hopefully others have heard of them)
Have checked the wires all correct even got Mr Suzuki sparky man out to check everything and all good with signal etc.
Have have had the ECU rechecked on a test bench and have signal there.
I am not getting any inputs from the crank angle and cam angle sensor when I scope it through the ECU. with that no inputs for the ign and injectors. ....

If someone knows any tuning shops in pretty much STH east QLD that works with EMU ecus please let me know

No input from the cam & crank angle sensor would indicate defective, incorrectly wired, or incorrectly installed sensors - what type of sensor are you using?

Magnetic reluctance sensors will give an output with no power to them, very easy to check with a scope, hall effect or optical sensors will need power, magnetic sensors will need to be precisely positioned near the pickup wheel.

What do you mean by "scope through the ECU"?

Scope at the input to the ECU, if you have signal there, the sensors are good, if you're not getting the signal further down the chain, either the ECU is defective, incorrectly configured, or not compatible with the sensors.

What car & engine are we looking at?

engine is 2010 m15a
using factory sensors, wiring has been checked, then double checked then 3rd checked, no issues with the wiring
have taken pics and sent to ecu sales guy who has confirmed wired in the correct spots
have had 2 others check that the wiring is in the correct location in the ecu

The scope function is in the ecu software, as you wind the engine over its reads the trigger wheel and cam trigger to see where everything is, When checked at the ecu plug with an oscialscope (of how you spell it) and its getting good square wave signal

I am running out of ideas

If you connect the oscilloscope directly onto the cam/crank position sensor wiring where it enters the ECU and see a good signal, and the ECU doesn't see that signal through whatever software it uses, it's either defective, incorrectly configured or not compatible with the factory sensors.

Does the ECU manufacturer have a support guy you can talk to rather than the sales guy?

the support guy and the sales guy are one and the same, we are trying a few more things then im going to as for a refund as its not fit for purpose it was sold for, go else where...Loving it

I downloaded the Emu manual and had a quick flip through, I'm not familiar with the factory sensors on the M15a engines, but there are enough input option parameters on the ECU that it should be possible to configure it to run with most engines.

In the first post you said you had it bench tested and had signal - do you know what they were using for cam/crank input on the bench? If you can scope that & compare it to the output from the sensors on the engine (using an oscilloscope rather than the ECU software), it might give you some insight.

Signal amplitude & polarity is what I would be looking for as the first step - even if the configuration is incorrect - say you have it set for a 60-2 wheel and that is not what is fitted, the ECU should still see a recognizable input, even if it doesn't know how to process it.

Last thing - sales & support guy - I know nothing about him, but, in most tech companies sales & support are different aspects of the business - check their website, there is both a phone number & an email address for tech support. They should at least be able to help you get it started, even if they can't help you get it tuned.
