Hey all, I am needing a new fuel tank for my 89 sierra. I am having to buy a tank from ebay it seems and then buy a bash guard for it, as i have turned my 40l tank to a roughly 30l tank. Is this my only option? I want to keep the tank in its stock location and not looking for a long range tank. I am happy to go the standard route as it seems to serve well but always looking for better options if they are available. |

Pump your tank out with air and put a guard on it. Aren’t you efi though? You’ll need a maruti gypsy/sj80 tank. |

I bought a brand new Sierra tank with all the efi stuff on eBay for a bit under $300. wouldn’t stuff around trying to bodgy a tank when new ones are so cheap |

Yes I am running EFI however using external fuel pump...Will try the air idea with my spare tank that has some dents in it but deff less then the one that is in the car, but i do see myself just buying new tank from ebay, but some guards on it and calling it a day |

If you’re going to buy a new tank buy one to suit efi. I wouldn’t buy a new carb tank and compromise the fuel system when you have a choice. |
