How does it feel being honoured with the nomination for Z.O.O.M. 2018?I am absolutely shocked! I can honestly say that I didn't even expect it, its a great privilege to be selected.
So tell us about yourself. Who are you, What's the meaning to your username, Where do you live, and what do you do for a living?My name is Simon and I live in Sydneys West, I grew up in Tassie and moved up here for work almost 10 years ago. I work NSW State Government within the rehabilitation area.
How did you get started in Suzuki's & how many have you owned?I have had a few mates that have owned a couple of Jimny's, after seeing how capable these little cars are I decided to "üpgrade" from my old rig.
How long did it take you to build your zook to what it is today?I have owned it for 1 year now. I bought it brand new from the dealership this time last year.
Any changes in store for your Suzuki?I am looking to go to a 3-4" lift and run 30's with some reduction gears just to achieve that clearance and gearing ratio. I am also looking to install a rear bar within the immediate future to cater for the larger spare that I will be putting on.
What has been your best modification?Best mod so far has been the front and rear airlockers. These have improved the car enormously, being a shorter wheelbase thats light a-f.... Lockers just give the edge a little more when driving really complex terrain
What has been your worst modification?Worst mod, I don't really have one I suppose... Maybe the cheap floormats I got for it?
If you could have anybody else's zook, who's would it be and why?I would have brindog's Jimny. It is super clean, basic and has everything it needs. I love how he has set the car up.
What has been your best 4wding trip?My best 4wding trip would have been the trip I did home to Tassie, did some awesome 4wding on the southern peninsula along the coastal beaches and camped in this amazing little spot that was totally secluded.
If you could go to any place in the world to wheel, where would that be?I am planning on doing Cape York with a friend at the end of this year. That is one place I have always wanted to go and the planning has begun.
Who are you closest to in the auszooker's community?I suppose being so new I haven't really had the chance to get to know a "closest" person however from my experience so far it is a great community and I am looking forward to actually getting out on a forum wheel day.
What other toys/hobbies do you put a lot of time into?My other biggest time consumer is with the NSW Rural Fire Service. I spend a heap of time responding to calls and training new firefighters that have joined the service. Sport wise I play Australian Rules Football and I go for a scuba dive every couple of weekends. Did I also mention I coach my wifes soccer team.....

What is it about the auszookers that brings you back for more?Everyone is here for one reason, to talk Suzuki stuff. It's great to see that no question is a stupid question, everyone is really helpful and if its been done it can be usually found in the search bar
What about the auszookers forum would you like to see changed?
I would love to see the facebook page get utilised more to promote the forum.
Now for the million dollar question, who do you select to be the next Z.O.O.M. & why?I vote CB's Jimny (brindog). I have really appreciated reading the build thread and I love how simple his build was. All the gear needed without going overboard, its a very clean example that still gets used for what it was intended. Seems like a good bloke too!
