Congratulations on being selected for Auszookers Zook Owner of the Month!

How does it feel being honoured with the nomination for Z.O.O.M. 2014?

Surprising, and appreciative I guess. I'm still trying to work out Gregc's reason too, but I hope this will clear it up :)

So tell us about yourself. Who are you, What's the meaning to your username, Where do you live, and what do you do for a living?

My name is Dan, my username reflects my name and that I owned a Sierra when I joined AZ. I wish I chose a better name but it has stuck now
I live in Newcastle, NSW by the lake. I will struggle to leave the area its ideal for every stretch of my lifestyle.
I work with Sam at Overkill Engineering.

How did you get started in Suzuki's & how many have you owned?
I got started after claiming my ex's '95 Hardtop. I spent a lot of time fixing it up and convincing her I wanted to wheel it, then it died so she got rid of it.

I wanted another one so I bought a White '95 soft top Sierra and bought a few things for it. AZ got me into all the common mods and I learned the car pretty quickly.

I went to go a little silly with it, then circumstances changed and i scrapped it

I had some time off wheeling zooks, while I was being a navi for a mate in his buggy.

Then bought the Blue Sierra, and got back into it.

Rolled it, now giving it a rebirth.

I got a Vitara more recently.
Put a 40mm lift in it. Built a front bar. Softroading in it and daily driving to work.

That makes 4 zooks!

How long did it take you to build your zook to what it is today?

I've had these various Suzuki's over the past 4 years.

Any changes in store for your Suzuki?
The Sierra will be finished and tidied up for sale, as I have another build more suited to what I want to wheel now.
The Vitara will get a SAS and be set up for "touring", then I hope my girlfriend will keep it and drive it as she has always wanted a cool 4wd of her own.

What has been your best modification?

Gearing is the best thing I ever did.

What has been your worse modification?
Rancho shocks were my biggest regret in the white Sierra. They were a lot of coin for a shit ride and leaving more to be desired in travel.

If you could have anybody else's zook, who's would it be and why?
To be honest, Gregc's Black car. I love a soft top Sierra and he has all the boxes ticked. One day I will build one very similar, I just don't have the will to build a regoed car at the moment and want a break from some of the terrain a regoed car can drive.

But it will be white :P

What has been your best 4wding trip?
One of my favourites was a trip to the Watagans with a group of mates.

The 'Winter Wheel' at City View 4wd Park last year was a great, super fun social trip in the buggies.

But I pretty much always had fun as long as I was in 4L.

If you could go to any place in the world to wheel, where would that be?

Utah, without a doubt. And a couple of W.E. Rock Unlimited events.

Who are you closest to in the auszooker's community?

There's a few on here im good friends with. Appsie, Jimmy!, Newi Creeper, Parry.
I've also had plenty of chats with other Interstate members.

Tell us what the wheeling is like in your area?

The wheeling around here is super diverse and dynamic. There's a lot of rock, dirt and clay. It's forever changing and there are areas for various levels of 4wd's. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else while I own a 4wd.

What other toys/hobbies do you put a lot of time into?
I'm into two wheelers. Motor and pedal powered.
I've spent way too long away from both and want to get back into it!

Other than that I am heavily into 4wding. Spending my working days with 4wd's and building and competing 4wd's, including developing a skill and enjoyment in TIG welding which I am keen on improving.
I'm pretty proud of my efforts in this thing.

What is it about the auszookers that brings you back for more?

The characters who log in, there's nearly always something worth reading somewhere.
And the tech that is always growing.

What about the auszookers forum would you like to see changed?

I would like a different colour for the forum. This is one of my least favourite colours :thefinger:

Now for the million dollar question, who do you select to be the next Z.O.O.M. & why?

I would like to select Zook_Fan, he's a clever dude and would be interested to read his Z.O.O.M. entry!

No pics Zook_Fan :D

Sierras are great. So much more I could do to make it more capable, but not while in living where i am. Or while i have my other project.

Nice write up Dan.

It was the number of cars you are always playing with that caught my attention.

Not sure about that vitara though. Next thing you'll be considering a jimny ;)
