Congratulations on being selected for Auszookers Zook Owner of the Month!

How does it feel being honoured with the nomination for Z.O.O.M. 2015?

Quite surprised to be picked for ZOOM. I don't feel worthy haha

So tell us about yourself. Who are you, What's the meaning to your username, Where do you live, and what do you do for a living?

My names Daniel, My username means black fox (albeit shortened and an extra X) It was just name I liked at the time when signing up to some other forum and it has kinda stuck since.

I currently live in the village of Edith just outside of Oberon NSW. Nice quiet place and gets plenty cold enough with the occasional snow fall. Currently between jobs and just doing some handyman work to keep a bit of cash flow.

How did you get started in Suzuki's & how many have you owned?

My dad bought a '94 sierra tintop as a run around car, I never thought much of it until we took it to one of many local fossicking areas (steep, lose rock and tight trails) were the nimbleness started to show and my curiosity with these cars sparked. I started looking around on the internet for forums etc and saw SierraDans houso build (early stages) on 3wdcraption and I was amazed at where that thing was being driven. Not long after I found AZ with all the amazing tech and build threads.

Kept my eyes open for any for sale, Browsing eBay I saw a coil spring model and thought 'heck yea, gotta be better than leaf springs' (I hadn't yet known the issues coilys are renowned for) but luckily it was too far and never bought it.

Few months later a LWB Drover came up for sale on Gumtree, only an hours drive away. Went to have a look at it, Typical farm truck but had rego and tyres at the right price. Handed over cash monies the next day and drove it home.

I could probably keep rambling on but the general gist of things after purchase were bulk searching AZ and making mental notes of what works and what doesn't.

The Drover is my one and only.................for now.

How long did it take you to build your zook to what it is today?

I've only owned it 3 years, but it is forever changing and honestly don't think it will stop

Any changes in store for your Suzuki?

There's plenty of things I'd like to do but the next things on the list are a rear air locker and a new tub style tray to replace the current farm spec tray. Also working on some 'uppers' for my half doors.

What has been your best modification?

I can't pick just one. RUF and 6.5s have been fantastic. RUF purely for the added travel and it has made the car feel better on angles. And 6.5s, because gearing.

What has been your worse modification?

Worst mod would have to be the commo shocks and the associated bumpstop spacers. They're an OK temporary solution but nothing beats 'Do it once, Do it right'. Some shiny Bilsteins might find there way in there.

If you could have anybody else's zook, who's would it be and why?

Shuducks Tintop would be my pick. Built for a purpose. Low, Plenty of travel and somewhat simple.

What has been your best 4wding trip?

Coffs 2015 V2.0. Even though I didn't take my car I had a great time with a great bunch of people.

If you could go to any place in the world to wheel, where would that be?

Pacific Northwest region in the US is somewhere I'd love to check out.

Who are you closest to in the auszooker's community?

Perram, Bluesuzy and Ratty562. Good bunch of blokes to wheel with and always willing to swap parts/advice or just have a general chat. They're also geographically the closest, which helps when living in the sticks

Tell us what the wheeling is like in your area?

Mostly touring/site seeing stuff with the odd medium/hard track thrown in. Plenty of sandstone steps/ledges and bush rock.

What other toys/hobbies do you put a lot of time into?

RC cars keep me pretty occupied. Otherwise working on old classic cars (FB Holden and dodge phoenix) and the odd bit of fossicking.

With the Blue Mountains just a stones throw away, I love getting out and doing some bushwalking too

What is it about the auszookers that brings you back for more?

Bulk tech, Build threads and all the pretty pics in Joes boo*cough*.... I mean the trips/travel subforum

What about the auszookers forum would you like to see changed?

Get rid of the coily on the banner :thefinger:

Seriously though, it seems to work as is albeit a bit quiet.

Now for the million dollar question, who do you select to be the next Z.O.O.M. & why?

Rob45x
