I bought a slide-on camper off a mate the other week, that will be under going a rebuild to suit my needs. I bought it mainly for the trailer as I want something I can stand up inside, sleep inside and my two kids able to sleep up off the ground, so I will be stripping all the extra bits off the camper, awning, gas struts, hinges and door locks and scrapping the rest.

This is what it looked like, before




And hopefully it will end up a cross between these 2, with the kids sleeping in the fold out tents on either side, double bed in side at the front and enough area inside to stand up and get changed and a lift up roof like it was orginally.

Finally after lots of planning I have started on this.

This is hopefully what it will roughly look like when finished.

Cool. Keep up with the photos. I would love to build a lightweight off-road teardrop with aircon.

Cheers. The outside will be clad with alloy and the inside will be mostly marine ply so hopefully all up it will be under 1300kg loaded.
I used this site a fair bit and they have a heap of teardrop stuff, its American but the pics provide a heap of ideas.

Cheers mate, it currently sits on the brake drums on dolly's so I can move it round the shed and it will be touch and go getting it out, once the roof goes on there will be no chance as is. Its sprung over and sits too high for the towball on my car anyway so I plan on making it sprung under and if worst comes to the worst I will lay boards down and roll it out on the drums. Its only staying in the shed whilst I am building it.

Nothing much to update other the the internal bed base is framed out and I am looking into making an internal kitchen on the back wall, have been too busy with life lately to get stuff done on it unfortunately but once my next comp is over and done with I'll get back into it.

Finally got back into it, after doing a lot of slow, boring rust removal and priming with cold gal

The flooring is all cut and in, there is a few holes to fill. The interior frame is part of the chassis so to get the plywood in around everything it meant holes. The original design has changed slightly, the rear door is now on the passenger side of the rear and there will be an interior kitchen on the rear wall.
