oh, and those silver rescue blankets (find on ebay for like a buck) are good for putting underneath matteress if you get cold....... not that i see you having that problem eldo! haha! |

I can't use reflective type underblankets, they don't breathe well, and I get damp underneath. OK on the ground, with a breathable layer on top of it. |

I still keep one in my first aid kit in case anyway. |

I would actually like to use a thermarest but that woulda cost more than the swag, I've been cold in the back before in my swag but that's camping in the blue mountains in winter |

Look at exped mats. My synmat was just over $100 and my comfort was about the same. Both rated well below zero. And super comfy. |

If your worried about pack size I use the synmat UL. 400grams and folds up the size of a 600mm coke bottle (and is damn comfy) only downside is it is on the fragile side - which is the only real benefit of a swag, they are super tough. |

haha yeah i saw the specs. but dont really trust manufacturers specs on this sort of thing. Better to ask a real life owner. Ill have to have a eye out for em. |

Well it's been up for 2 days in the yard and I've hosed the crap out of it, still dry inside and no leaks that I can see so far, tomorrow I will pack it up and let it dry out before rolling it up, so far I reckon it's a bargain, I had an oztrail that is a POS compaired to this, the poles are also held together wih that elastic inner so no confusion of what goes where |

Will be shopping for a swag. I usually just sleep in the back of the ute or on the motorbike trailer with a mattress. This isn't gunna be an option for be Beachport. I'll freeze solid.  Can you guys make any suggestions? Help and opinions are greatly appreciated

I know of someone that used a heated seat cover inside their swag....... One of his better ideas ..... but then he went and undid that genius by buying an old pathfinder.....

I Have the synUL7 for bike adventures. Awesome products, priced well when you compare to rays/anaconda generic. Amazingly comfy and warm. Even more so when you take its size and weight into account. |

Looking at getting a Burke and Wills "Redgum", they look dear though, but Aussie made. What draws me to it is that it is midgie proof and has a large amount of mesh that starts low. Looking for versatility and quality. |

i just brought a roo-systems double swag the other week. heaps of room inside for two, mattress is great and the quality is one of the better ones ive seen  but because it is a double swag it rolls up long, and the bag they give you is a joke unless the swag shrinks with age it was a real struggle to get it back in there with 2 of us trying to do up the zipper!

I've got an oztrail mitchell king swag. No complaints. I slept in it for about 6 months last year because I didn't have a proper bed, only damage is a ripped seam on the mattress cover. I wanna get a self inflating mattress for it anyway. An unexpected bonus is if you just fold it in half instead of rolling it up it's exactly the right size to neatly fit in the back of a SWB Sierra. It covers your stuff, you can see over it and setup takes half a minute. |
