Our club has 230 members and we do a trip a week, often support community events and regularly stage 3 week away trips throughout New Zealand. We are considering buying a camper trailer to support some of our activities and I'd like to know if any of the forum members would be able to make comment about our consideration of a Blackseries Dominator. I appreciate that its much heavier than most Zukes can tow but I'd value comments about the quality (or lack of) of the unit or any other models you might suggest. We wont be building one.
Over here in NZ we lack the long and remote tracks that you have in Aus and camping on the trails is rare but it would be used as a: mobile kitchen for events, shelter for briefings and reviews, support for search and rescue operations or civil emergencies, and club members may be able to hire it.
I have a few concerns about the strength of the tent in our colder and windier New Zealand conditions and the general lack of care that is dished out to Hired resources.
Steve.

Black Series (or CIG as they where known before all of the law suits) have a really bad reputation over here. Like really bad.
If this thread has a couple of comments about how crap they are, Shep and Ball will be getting letters from lawyers soon enough.

CIG made crap trailers and if anyone made that known publicly they threatened the forum owners with legal action and get the negative comments pulled offline.

I would agree with your comments about the quality of the canvas as one of the most important concerns for your local environment.

Black series are all made in China AFAIK.
Some light reading for you; https://4x4fever.com/cig-campers-youre-kidding-me-right/

I have a Chinese camper and it was 1/2 the price of a CIG and much better quality.
Have camped in tropical storms with winds over 100kph and it was fine however canvas
has zero insulating qualities so it's gunna be cold

While I can't speak for ball I am happy for people to post facts that they can back up if asked
