This is my Jeepsy, when I went to sell my Tintop SJ50 I had plans in mind to go to a TJ, and I did.

2000 TJ
3.5" lift on adjustable rancho 9000s
swaybar d/cs, rear bar drop, extended bumpstops, tough dog return shock
rebuilt motor, pistons rings bearings etc, regassed aircon.
half doors with smittybilt tops
smittybilt xrc frontbar with 9" lightforce hids.
homemade sliders
Warn 6.5" polyurethane fenders.
15x8 american racing rims with 33s Goodyear Duratracs.

few other bits and pieces, I like it, good compromise.

Nice TJ... I have a soft spot for a well setup TJ...

I have a JK with a few things done to it... I've also got a LWB Sierra which is the next project.

Picked this dirty pig out for a mate recently:

Running a 3.5 rough country suspension lift, 1 inch body lift on a set of 33's. 4L and manual trans with homemade transfer drop.

Drives great and very stable. He got a pretty good deal on it, I would have grabbed myself if he didn't want it.

Due to the flat fenders it doesn't need as much lift as it has imo, will speak to the owner bout removing around 1.5 inches out of the suspension.

I had a XJ for about 5 month's, then I broke the f#*k out of it....

Very capable for std 4wd, then I lifted & the front RH upper leading arm would hit the eng block.... :?

Punctured the auto cooler line's a couple of time's, causing the auto to overheat. Killing it.

Did look good driving down the pouring out white smoke though... Armsup

Serious question.

Why is there a Jeep section on a Suzuki forum? Do they share parts or something? What's the link?

One of the owners of this site owns a jeep. If he wants a jeeps section then why not.

That Jk, hmm hmm.

I've always had my mind set on buying a Jeep at some stage, but wanted a Suzi first. Plus to me Sierras are kind of the same body shape in a way. Boxish, small front window. Look good when they are typically not over lifted and look awesome with wider tracks.

I bought an XJ Cherokee, 1995 model.

Liked it. But it was a complete heap. Sold it and bought a 1992 GQ patrol. GQ is da bombz. Factory rear sway bar disconnect yo.

Seems a common theme with the XJ's.

Awesome offroad. Heaps of space and power. Drove nicely. and I liked it alot.
But spent all my time and budget chasing gremlins, and not enough time wheeling it.

Sold it for a GV.

After a 4 years without a Sierra I'm getting cravings again, only to get back to AZ and we have a Jeep section

Currently driving a 07 JK CRD. Cheap 2" spring lift with disconnects, 33s, 4.57 diff gears, front LSD, exhaust, ESP kill switch and cooling mods cos it likes to get warm. Good for beach runs and mild shit but I don't want to destroy the body as its a daily. Got a MK4 Golf that i need to sell, then time for another SJ70 Armsup

The body's seem to take a fair bit of abuse. I have rubbed mine down a few trees etc and the paint barely scratches.

There are a LOT of Jeeps going cheap in holding yards etc on the Cape York track.. They break and are uneconomical to recover... I like the fact that Jeep is now advertising that the new Jeep will "get you there and Back again" ..They must make the new ones somewhere else because the old ones rarely even get there , let alone BACK again....Good car for mechanics with deep pockets...

I've seen a few neat looking TJs in the $4-5K range lately. Honestly for similar money to a neatish sierra or quite average Jimny it would be hard to go past the Jeep.

I'd buy one if I wasn't so invested in Suzukis.

Paint seems good on them, doesn't pin stripe to easily. But I have pushed both rear panels in from rubbing flares on banks. I plan on owning it for another 5 years so it would be good to keep it looking somewhat clean.

The amount I've been seeing down here is insane, and get snatched up quite quick. Missed out on a blown motor'd '02 by 10 minutes for $1100 with rego, ideal to do another LS swap to match our comp car.

Post subject:  Re: Anyone else a Jeep owner ?

Managed to get a few more things done.

Revolution Gears 4.56 f+r and major install kits.
Yukon Gear rear lsd clutch kit ( i had broken 3 plates in the pack )
Yukon Gear front carrier. ( rebuilt my 4wd Systems locker into this carrier from the stock carrier. )
Yukon Gear uni straps + bolts.
Spicer heavy duty front unis for axle.
Teraflex rear shock relocators.
Teraflex covers.
Silverstone 117s 35x10.50x16.
Penrite fluids all round.

First time I've ever gone as far to do anything with a diff, setting them up was insane, read so much and bought every single tool to get them right, and made my own diff spreader. My usual peak of mechanical knowledge is swapping suspension or doing small bits and pieces here and there, not this far. Definitely something i'm happy i gave a go.

Nope, but I pretty much exclusively hang around Jeeps with my Grand Vitara (paid member of Melbourne Jeep Owners Club - they run great trips).

My old man was president of MJOC for 3 years I think it was.

Got a massive soft spot for Jeeps.

I still keep in contact and drive with a fair few of the jeep club boys
