In preparation for replacing the engine in my son’s Jimny we have removed the sump. On removal we noticed that the baffle plate, assuming that it is it function, had be mostly removed/modified. Is this an issue? Guessing it was done to possibly fit the modified oil pick up.

Is it an issue that that part is mostly missing?

Depends on the sump, If it has quite a deep drop at the rear, it will probably be fine.

My sump is very flat with a pickup in the middle, I only see an issue on waterfall type climbs
Will fix it one day..
