does any one do one for the jimny? is the later models have a bigger tank that fits the older jimnys
i can never find many accessories for these cars

How much room is there around the OEM tank? Its infront of the rear axle isn't it?

you'll have to custom one, and Im pretty sure you'll have to re-route the exhaust, can't look though as mines at the shop.

If you kept the stock tank, and got a 2nd custom one made up for where the rear muffler goes, that would be better.

Jimnys are not a long distance 4wd touring car... unlike a pootrol and cruiser...

My Sierra has a 70L Long Ranger tank, and i'd rather travel long distance in a Jimny tbh haha

sucks that no one makes them, i would love one, as long as id didnt jeopardise the ground clearance too much.

i do some fairly big trips in my jimny and get sick of carrying 2 jerrys and stopping every 300 km to put them in,

Nobody else makes them. The exhaust would have to be changed...maybe come straight through rather than the bend just before muffler.

Correct..

I'm not a fan of the idea of putting one up the back, the rear muffler is there cause it's the only available spot for it..
In a raised Jim a long range is possible but would be a squeeze, you have to take into account that the drive shaft still need's room to travel up, so to the diff..
I've seen many a damaged tank from loaded 4by's on bumpy road's.. The more fuel you put in your tank the less stuff you can fit legally in the back, people forget this & still load up the rear as they always would + more cause the jerry's are gone, but the room around the diff has been greatly reduced..

You could remove the rear seats and raise the floor up a little to add the extra litreage ontop of the tank.

If you weren't into crawling and more into off road adventures a second tank where the muffler is would be OK. As Stek says there'd be a problem with space for the muffler. I've often wondered how well a Sierra tank would fit in that space. Would end up with 80 litres.

a new long range tank for a sierra is more than that,
i would pay double, maybe triple that for an extra 20 litre tank.

Is there a reason the fuel filter is inside the tank. When I was talking to Terry (www.paramountperformance.com) to make one for me I was wanting to have just a normal fuel filter that you can pick up cheap and put it under the bonnet.

You want the filter as close to the pump as possible. If there was room, I'd weld a filter clamp mount onto the outside if the tank to suit a vitara filter or similar.
