Of the diff or the transfer? I opened the diff and had a look at it. Looked all good, no metal or anything :D I think I should change the transfer oil too. Can I use the same shit I used in my diff? It says 75W/90 but I have 80W/90

if the manufacture specifies a different weight oil, it's usually for a reason.

Hmm, think my transfer is stuffed... Went up Cruiser park for the weekend and it just doesn't want to put drive to the front wheels under load and still makes the grinding noise even though I have a vitara CV in there now :/

going by the noises it was making & the fact that you kept at it, i reckon you've done some major damage somewhere, does the front drive shaft from the xfer case to the diff still spin when it's making the noise & not putting drive down?

SV 2.0l vitara 26 spline CV or just a normal SE 1.6l 26 spline CV ??

Not sure if it spins hard to get a good look under there while it's under load.

Not 100% sure but I think it's a 1.6, got it off swifty

Sooooo, put the GV up on the stands this arvo and put it in 4H and 4L and no drive to the front wheels in either but I can turn the pinion with my hand and it turns smoothly. So new transfer me thinks...

Also when I turned the pinion one CV goes forward and the other goes backwards? Is that correct? Thought they would both go forward :/
