i was having a think today and im looking to make a spacer for my rear shocks in my grand vitara

i was thinking about using something along the line of a coupling nut to extend the thread on the shock and use a high tensile bolt to secure it to the car with all its rubber spacers

i can get all the bits for a few bucks so seams a load cheaper than a proper spacer (although not as good)

X2.

I have ODA's in the rear of my Gv, but thay are very stiff & you have to slightly mod the lower mount's to make em not "touch" the shocks.

atm im running a set of dobsion extended shocks 35mm and they seam to be limiting my down travel. i was thinking about running a pair of commodor shocks but i was told they would be to long for my 60mm spring and spacer lift.

what kind of shocks or setup for them would you recommend?

Take your shocks off and measure your travel (flex your car up). Check that it is acutally your shock limiting yout travel. By spacing down your shock you will potentially cause it to bottom out before your axle reaches the bumpstop. This will damage your shock and potentially snap your mounts.
