Hey all,
Question for the tinkerers among you:
Is it easy enough to retro-fit aircon in a 93 LWB Vitara? I was under the obviously erroneous impression that they came with AC standard - but the one I've just bought doesn't have it!
Not a massive drama, but I'd like to get it if I can.
There is the space for a button on the console, and I have a spare radiator with an AC compressor attached, so what else do I need? How hard is it to plumb everything in? Do I just need to find a wreck with AC and pull everything out and bolt it in mine?
Any help greatly appreciated!

I'm no expert, but I think you will still need a fridgie to gas it, leak test it, and a few other little bits and peices. Getting all the parts and bolting it in should save you a fair bit though, especially if you can get all the pipes fully (and properly) connected...
Or maybe just use WD60? - its what i do
WD60 - Windows down, 60KPH

A/C was optional.
I think you mean radiator with condenser attached?
Yes, you would need to find an Evaporator for under the dash, a compressor, all the hoses and then bolt it up.
You may be able to find them from a wreckers, or keep an eye on the parts for sales section of the forum.
Don't forget to put a little compressor oil on the o'rings where the pipes join the compressor, evap, condenser, etc. And use new o'rings.
You would then need to find someone to vac pump it, check for leaks, recharge it with gas + oil, etc.
