For a Vitara 2L with 120000k I started a search a hour ago and got side tracked
Any recommendations on Brand as well

BUGGER the book says it takes 5.2 liters so I need 2x5L and all the containers are 5l suppose I will have a little left over for top ups

The grade of oil you use depends on a few factors, Everyday highway use, I'd say 10w40, If you tow a trailer or like to give it a bit, 20w50. If your going to the snow 5w30.

The manual would tell you the capacity when the engine is bone dry, ie. after a rebuild. So you'd actually only need about 4.5L. But it's a good thing that 6L bottles are available these days.

in my J20A 2.0l vitara i run the castrol magnatec in 10w/40 & they take 5.2L with a new filter, there is no way it would hold 700ml if the engine is on level ground & the oil isn't like syrup.
