its all about supply and demand... and how common they are in your area. I picked up a complete steel diff for $500 (no cv's) but they are rare as over here. $400 bucks sounds reasonable for a complete set up inc cvs from a wreckers trying to make a profit, but if you're in no hurry, keep an eye out here as they often come up for next to nothing. I gave away an old complete alloy front diff as i had no use for it |

Fair enough. A steel one would be ideal and that money seems about right cause they seem to be rare as rocking horse shit |

diff is useless cause youll never replace an alloy diff with an alloy diff outer CV's are $60 odd on ebay for a new one, the inner dont break to often if anything I would keep a spare outer CV and worry about other bits if you need em, you can still drive it with teh diff gears hanging out in 2wd |

Good point about the CV's but it'd still be good to have a spare alloy one hanging around cause they tend to break quite easily (as i'm led to believe) and the steel ones are so damn hard to find. And i dont want to be stuck looking for one with a suzy that i cant go offroad in. There's a heap of guys on here that have done the alloy to alloy swap until a GV housing came along so it seems a viable option. Will keep in mind the thoughts about the CV's though, thanks for that. |

From my personal experience with Suzifour wreckers.. CV's $150 pair Alloy Diff housing (Front) $100 Steel Diff housing (front) $200 Steel Diff carrier $300 Of course you should always call them for an exact price. Maybe it's the wog in me, But I always ask to do a 'cheaper for cash' deal, and they usually do. |
